It seems like there are always those who assume they are on Jesus team and that He is so lucky to have them. If we are not careful we can easily fall into the same trap of feeling that we are special and that God chose us because of something we have or can do for Him. It simply is not the case, in fact quite the opposite. Jesus points this out in this parable. The ones who will be at Jesus’ banquet are the poor, the homeless, the dirty and smelly, the ones who can to nothing to benefit Him or give back to Him. They can only give Him their humble lives. This is what we should be and this should be our attitude. How can we humbly come to Jesus’ table?
