Jesus starts off here warning against the tendency that we all have to believe in karma. We might not call it karma, because, after all, we are Christians and don't believe in that Eastern religion stuff. If we are honest with ourselves though, we do tend to think, from time to time, that bad people eventually get what's coming to them in this life and good people get what they should. Jesus points out that none of us get what we deserve. His subsequent parable again points to the urgency that we need to have to get right with God now and get busy. Too many of us are like sick trees that don't produce any fruit for God in our lives. God's mercy and patience allows some of to linger here on earth to get our acts together and to help others find Jesus as well, but time is running out. Will you repent and produce fruit now? Will you urge others to do the same? We only have so much time left and we don't know when the Master will have the tree cut down. We need to believe Jesus that time is of the essence. We need to believe, repent, obey and follow Him because He doesn't get lost.
